Janssen Biotech, Inc. (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson) will create 420 jobs in Wilson, North Carolina, through a $1 billion investment in a new pharmaceutical campus focused on biologics. The average annual wage for these positions will be $108,823, including benefits.
The region will also benefit from the establishment of a biologics training center in Wilson, supported by state investment, which solidified the city as the ideal location for this new venture.
In a recent interview with WRAL News on October 2, 2024, Wilson Mayor Pro Tempore James Johnson, III, praised the collaboration of state lawmakers, county and local officials, and economic developers. He highlighted the significant efforts to enhance biotech workforce development in the county, stating, “It’s been a phenomenal year, and several years of hard work. This has been all encompassing — by all parties in the state.”
